Paver & Concrete Work We Do

Around here, hardscape lives or dies by what's underneath it — so that's where our work starts.

Paver Patios & Walkways

New patios, paths, and borders laid on properly compacted base — the part you can't see is the part that keeps them flat.

Paver Repair & Re-Leveling

Sunken or heaved sections lifted, re-based, and reset — usually reusing your existing pavers, so it matches perfectly.

Polymeric Sand & Sealing

Joints refilled and locked so weeds stay out and sand stays in — the maintenance step most patios never get.

Concrete Crack & Spall Repair

Cracked, chipped, and flaking concrete patched and resurfaced before water and winter make it worse.

Small Flatwork Pours

Pads for sheds, AC units, and hot tubs, plus stoops and sidewalk sections — formed, poured, and finished right.

Steps & Stoops

Settled or crumbling front steps repaired or rebuilt — safe, level, and ready for winter boots.

Why Hardscape Fails Here — and Ours Doesn't

Freeze-thaw is the real opponentNorthern Illinois clay holds water, and dozens of freeze-thaw cycles heave anything sitting on a lazy base. Proper excavation and compaction is the whole game.
Repair first, honestlyA sunken corner doesn't mean a new patio. We re-level what can be re-leveled and tell you plainly when it's past saving.
Drainage thinking includedEvery slope and grade decision moves water away from your foundation — a licensed GC habit that shows up in how long the work lasts.
Right-sized jobs, said up frontPatios, walkways, pads, and repairs are our lane. If your project needs a dedicated concrete outfit — a full driveway, foundation work — we'll say so instead of stretching.

Paver & Concrete Questions

My pavers are sinking — do they all need to be replaced?

Usually not. We lift the affected section, rebuild and compact the base, and reset the same pavers — a perfect match, because they're yours.

Why do patios sink around here in the first place?

Clay soil, water, and freeze-thaw. If the original base was too thin or poorly compacted, winter finds it within a few seasons. The fix is under the surface, not on it.

What size concrete jobs do you take?

Small-to-mid flatwork: pads, stoops, steps, sidewalk sections, and repairs. Full driveways and structural work belong with a dedicated concrete contractor — and we'll tell you when that's your job.

When is the season for this work?

Roughly April through October for pours — concrete wants mild overnight temps. Paver work runs longer, basically until the ground freezes.

What does it cost?

Every quote is written and itemized — excavation, base, materials, and labor broken out — so you see where the money goes and can adjust the scope.
